Kiama council has amended plans for extra car parks at Kiama Leisure Centre following the uncovering of asbestos fragments.

The excavated area will be capped in accordance with EPA standards. This area will not be used for car parks, reducing the planned expansion by 15 car spaces. Concrete will now be used to construct the remaining car parks to minimise earthwork excavations.
The path to the adjacent skate park will also be re-laid as concrete.
