This comes just hours after a heritage-listed house in Croome Road was gutted by fire.
One of the fires occurred around 3.45am in open grassland at the intersection of Noble Parade and Hilltop Avenue in Lake Heights.
It is understood fire crews were called to what was reported as a bonfire, which was quickly put out.
The bonfire was in an area close to several houses though it is not known at this stage if they suffered any damage.
The second fire occurred around 7am just four kilometres away at Hooka Creek Road, Berkeley, where a large area of grassland had been set alight.
It is understood fire crews are regularly called to battle scrub fires in bushland area of Hooka Creek Road.
It had rained earlier that night, which made it hard for the fire to take hold.
It is not known as this stage whether the two fires were the work of the same person.
The scrub fires came hours after a fire destroyed the heritage-listed Norris Homestead on Croome Road at Croom.
Fire crews were called to the blaze about 5.40pm and found the homestead fully ablaze.
The Norris Homestead was a dilapidated late-Victorian timber house that has sat vacant since Shellharbour council took possession in 2012.
Reports from the scene indicated the structure collapsed as the fire took hold.
