This was a question being asked by many at my local club following the announcement of Barnaby’s need to take a week of sickies.
Our club’s famous “Table of Knowledge” is one which includes members of both sexes and Gail, one of the good lady members of the Table, led off in the discussions by putting to the sword any consideration Barnaby’s problem was morning sickness, “far too late for that!” she said.
In response, “Robby” a real lefty cynic, suggested that as Barnaby was the minister for Agriculture and Water, “foot in mouth” was a possibility.
Then Leo The Table’s “quiet man” came up with the most obvious and overdue of medical procedures Barnaby needed for a week off work: “He’s going in for the snip!”.

A CASCADING IMPACT
If the deputy Prime Minister does not step down ASAP then it is possible that the voters of Australia will ensure that the whole Coalition will have to step down come the next Federal Election.
Just do the right thing.

WHERE IS THE LOVE?
When I first arrived in Australia, Valentines Day did not exist.
Nor did Halloween.
Both of these American phenomenons are purely a means of taking money out of the pockets of hard working, underpaid Australians and putting into the pockets of big business.
It would be nice if people could show their love to their partner or girl/boy friend every day and not succumb to the commercial interests who are only interested in making money.

RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS
US parents are sending their kids off to school each day knowing it could be the last time they see them alive, yet they condone the American constitutional right to bear arms.
What does this say about the American culture and can Australia afford to point the finger with its own current shooting free-for-alls?
If Australian gun laws are not stopping access to guns, they’re obviously not tough enough.
If the violent movies and the glamorizing of guns being served up as entertainment is affecting the young and vulnerable they too should be curtailed, lest we end up all owning guns as, in the US.

TENT EMBASSY FARCE
The tent embassy has become a bit of a farce. Just like in white man's politics there is the left and the right.
The site is a disgrace. For a so called "site of significance" it looks like a tip.
There is no heritage to be seen when passing by and at times you would think it is a bar or pub.
There is no doubting the significance of the site but unless you knew the history you could mistake it for a squat for homeless people.
It is time for all parties to come to a rational decision as to what will be at Sandon Point.
Roy Kennedy was and is not a role model.
He had motives that were not pure and he needs to be expunged from the Sandon Point legacy.
If the tent embassy wants to maintain what little value it has and expand on that then there needs to be a major shift in the story.
