Wollongong City Council has signalled an interest in adopting the artwork which is being given away by its creators. It is being considered under the Public Art Program.
“Council is currently exploring its budget allocations as funds needed to allow for the transportation of the ‘Shellpod’ from its current location and to make sure it’s appropriately installed in a new location. This location would also be part of the considerations,” a spokesperson said.
Artist Gaby Porter said Kiama Council had also signalled some interest. She hoped the sculpture could find a home as soon as possible for the public to enjoy it sooner.
