Former construction worker Adam Demos has popped up on our screens from time to time – including on Winners and Losers and the revival of The Solo Man in 2012 – but it’s his latest role that is already turning heads.
Demos had a nine-hour salon appointment to don hair extensions to play a surfer who joined the Peace Corps, August, on season three of the dramedy UnREAL which premiers Tuesday February 27 on Stan.
“That was so sick to be able to work on UnREAL, just like to work with the calibre of people and that kind of show,” he said.
“I spent most of my life saving up money to go on a holiday and the next minute I was getting paid to be in Vancouver and act, which is my favourite thing in the world, so it’s those moments are quite surreal.”
The premise of the show centres on a hit reality program called Everlasting with the new season fronted by suitress Serena (Caitlin FitzGerald) – similar to what was seen with Sophie Monk on The Bachelorette.
The cousin of Hawks’ star Tyson Demos said there wasn’t much he could complain about from the experience though joked doing pool scenes with his shirt off in the middle of a Canadian winter was a bit cold.
At the moment the self-confessed “mamma’s boy” is back in the Illawarra enjoying time with family and waiting for his next gig – whether that’s on Australian soil or Hollywood he’s happy to go with the flow and continue working on “cool stuff”.
“People from any walk of life can do acting,” he said. “I worked construction in the Gong and then I gave it a crack, and it all sort of worked out.”
Spoiler alert – Demos returns in season four of the show, which is also already filmed and ready to hit screens.
“It’s quite bizarre to have two seasons done and dusted and one hasn’t even come out yet, it’s weird,” he laughed.
