The event, hosted by the Illawarra Football Academy aimed to provide players with a chance to refine their skills in an eight-a-side tournament prior to the commencement of official football competitions for the season.
IFA director Mark Tyssen said it was great to see so many young footballers put their talents on display in challenging conditions.
“The 2018 South Coast Cup junior eight-a-side preseason soccer tournament hosted by the Illawarra Football Academy was a great success with over 160 Elite Junior Soccer Players from all over NSW competing in this Inaugural event in February here on the South Coast.” Tyssen said.
The IFA players fared well at the tournament, with IFA Red defeating IFA White in the under 12-13s final. Local club Lakers also impressed, winning the under 12s final.
