It has all the hallmarks of the Novotel Hotel acquiring private use of a public thoroughfare by stealth.
Shove up a temporary barrier on the pretext of some charitable event to gauge public reaction, leave in place until objection has subsided and then install a permanent structure.
Many home owners lost up to 8 metres from their land in Cliff Road in the 50's for the widening of the road all in the public interest.
It goes against this principle to now allow a private concern to benefit from exclusive use of a public thoroughfare.
Please Council, give it back to the public.

Registering a problem
Hey Gladys, I hear you are having a problem with unregistered and uninsured motorists running into and killing and maiming legitimate road users.
You have at your disposal the records of the Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) the department that administers the registration process.
At the press of a button, the details of unregistered vehicles will be readily available on computer spreadsheets.
This information under the caption “NSW unregistered motor vehicles” can then be forwarded as computer downloads to state police command district offices, where they will be re-directed to the appropriate police stations for “registration plate collection.
Instead of police officers carrying out these duties the government can employ authorised inspectors for plate collection.
The routine to be carried out will be as follows Inspector approaches the registered owner and informs him/her that their vehicle “is out of registration and unless they can produce the registration papers, inspection certificate, and third-party insurance document coverage plus the registration amount due, he/she will remove the number plates and as a consequence. The plates destroyed.”
If the number plates are not available: The registration number will be placed on the police “Stolen Plate Register” and any driver found driving a vehicle with those number plates attached will be arrested.
There you are problem solved.
Now you can see your way clear to abolish the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) and repeal the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017.
The SIRA and Motor Accident Injuries Act were only set up to protect people like me in the event being injured or killed in an accident caused by the driver of an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
The NSW government is —a rotten undemocratic institution.
Judging by the above, the whole lot of you are self-indulged politicians showing no modicum of concern for your constituents, the only interest in your political careers is your own.

The world has gone mad
Is this world going insane, paramedics to pay $80 for working with children.
OMG, does this mean any one that even rubs shoulders with children needs a clearance certificate?
What an insult to all paramedics.
The world HAS gone MAD.

Terrorists and bad teachers
Following on from the brilliant (like a flash in the pan) suggestion by Mr Trump that to solve the terrorist problem in US schools, the teachers should be armed.
I have an even better suggestion – arm the students.
This way two problems would be solved, terrorists and bad teachers.
