Paramedics arrived at Crookhaven Lighthouse about 7.30am to find a 35-year-old woman stranded on the rocks below with a suspected fractured right ankle.
Ambulance rescue, RFS brigades from Culburra and Greenwell Point and Shoalhaven police were preparing to carry the patient out in a stokes litter, however this was deemed unsafe due to the terrain and rising tide.
The rescue helicopter from Wollongong attended, winching the patient on board before flying her to Wollongong Hospital for further treatment.
