As of Monday people can visit the Service NSW website to claim their refund.
But the lure of a government refund has been so popular, it’s caused “technical difficulties” for the website .
“The CTP refunds available to over 4 million NSW citizens are proving to be more popular than anticipated,” said a notice on the Service NSW website.
“Some customers may be experiencing a short delay due to the high volume of transactions being carried out on our website currently. We are working hard to fix the issues.
“If you're experiencing any delay, we apologise for the inconvenience and ask that you come back later.”

The high demand on the site makes it difficult for users to log on, with many unable to complete that first step.
The government had tested the refund system with a series of pilot programs earlier this year to ensure the network could handle a large volume of people using the Service NSW.
A Service NSW spokesman said technicians were working to restore services as quickly as possible.
“Motorists have until 30 September to claim their refund, so there is plenty of time,” the spokesman said.
The cash is a partial refund on what people paid for their 2017 green slip, following on from the state government’s changes to the CTP insurance scheme.
The changes were introduced on December 1 and saw green slips drop in price by around $120.
In terms of the refund, the closer to December 1 someone renewed their green slip, the greater the refund.
