President Dot Hennessy said the free event will run from 10am to 1pm and feature an Easter Egg Hunt, children’s entertainment and Symbio’s mobile wildlife zoo.
The inaugural fun day was initiated by Wollongong City Council with the help of Rotary who expected maybe a few hundred people but greeted thousands.
Children and big kids from the hundreds of families present enjoyed many traditional games such as sack races, egg and spoon races, three-legged races and wheelbarrow races with chocolate prizes to be won.
“Last year was an outstanding success. The weather was so very kind to us and it was a great day for all. We are hoping this year will be the same,” Mrs Hennessy said.
Rotary looks like getting its wish with the forecast for the Easter long weekend for warm and dry weather.
The Wollongong club sponsors the Easter Eggs and provides the barbeque.
