After Dexter, 6, and his family were given tickets by the Mercury and KidzWish for the Nitro Circus experience, he and his two sisters were treated like VIP’s with a meet-and-greet and backstage tour.
Mum Lenice Heffernan said he absolutely loved the show and his smiles before, during and after each thrill seeking moment told the story.
Dexter was born prematurely and suffered periventricular leukomalacia, a form of brain damage. As a result has cerebral palsy and impaired vision. He was then diagnosed with cancer and epilepsy.
Nitro Circus global ticketing manager Nathan Brown said the stars of the show loved coming back to Wollongong and will do so again because they always have such a great response.
“We are here for a fourth time for a reason. Because it works here in Wollongong. And I don’t think there is better view anywhere in the world than WIN Stadium.”
Mr Brown said around 10,000 people turned up on Saturday.
They included Michael Wood, of Warilla, with his two sons and a friend.
“It was great that they got to meet some of their heroes,” he said.
Katie Dennis, a UTS student from Maryland in the United States, has seen the show several times including the last one in Canberra.
And brought friend Aidan Johnson, of San Diego, down from Sydney for her first show.
“It is just amazing the tricks they do,” Ms Dennis said.
