Ryan Reginald Suttle, an avid soccer player who has previously played for clubs including Dapto Dandaloo and South Coast United, is accused of preying on six underage girls he met through social media between 2014 and 2018.
Documents tendered to Wollongong Local Court claim Suttle “procured” the girls before either indecently assaulting them or raping them.
Two of the girls were aged 14 and four aged 15 at the time of the alleged offences.
The documents reveal Suttle is facing 48 charges, the most serious of which allege he participated as a client in acts of child prostitution with two of the teens on five occasions.
He is also accused of videoing some of the girls to produce child abuse material.
The majority of the charges against the 25-year-old relate to allegations of aggravated sexual assault against the teens.
The offences are alleged to have occurred in various suburbs around the Illawarra.
Suttle was arrested and remanded in custody on April 4. A brief of evidence was ordered during a mention of his case in court this week. The matter will return to court on June 20.
