A man will face court on Tuesday charged with drug and firearms offences after police from the state’s organised crime squad raided a Cringila home.

Officers from Strike Force Raptor South served a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) and a Weapons Prohibition Order on a 24-year-old man just after 1.30pm on Monday.
An FPO search was subsequently conducted at a home on Lake Avenue, Cringila, where a shortened .22 calibre rifle and ammunition, an air rifle, a gel-ball pistol, and 50 grams of cannabis were found.
All items were seized by police.
The man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra police station.
He was charged with a number of offences, including: possessing a shortened firearm, possessing an unauthorised pistol, being in possession of an unauthorised firearm, not storing a firearm safely, possessing ammunition, and being in possession of a prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail and will face Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday.
Inquiries are continuing.
