An indigenous jobs roadshow made a pit stop in Wollongong yesterday as part of the Closing the Gap campaign. As well as enjoying traditional Aboriginal dances, community members placed hand prints on a pledge wall at the GenerationOne event in Crown St Mall yesterday."It's about all Australians getting on board and supporting this movement," GenerationOne spokesman John McGuire said."We've had fantastic support from communities so far. The awareness is getting out there."The GenerationOne campaign started on March 19, with the aim of creating 50,000 jobs across Australia for indigenous people. The focus is on sustainable employment and the end of indigenous disadvantage."We're not asking for money," Mr McGuire said."We are asking for employers to make these positions available and we will ensure they are properly trained."For more information, visit www.generationone.org.au.
