A Shellharbour City Centre car park became a crime scene yesterday after the discovery of a man's body.Police were called to the car park, off Moolawang Pl, at 6.40am after a jogger found a man lying motionless on the ground at the rear of a large commercial and residential building. The man, believed to be aged in his late 40s or early 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. An employee who works in the building said an underground car park was also closed for about seven hours while detectives carried out an extensive investigation into the man's death."There were probably six police vehicles and the whole public car park was roped off for most of the day," he said."There was also no underground access until about 2pm; they were pretty thorough."While most of the building is dedicated to retail and commercial space, the top floor is residential and the employee said he believed the deceased may have been a resident.Late yesterday, police said they were not treating the man's death as suspicious. His name has not been released.A report is being prepared for the coroner.
