  • GALLERY: Illawarra Team of the Century gala dinnerThe array of talent from the Illawarra over 100 years of rugby league is staggering, and this team would be the pride of anywhere the code is played.Langlands is the fullback and Fulton five-eighth, both superbly brilliant leaders, players and time-tested match-winners.On the wings are the fleet of foot Ian Moir and robust Rod Wishart. The stylish Paul McGregor and teak-tough Harry Wells form a potent centre combination, and the skilful, strong Trent Barrett wears the No 7 halfback's jersey. At lock forward is Noel Mulligan, typified by spirit, skill, toughness and courage. In the second row are the rugged Ron Costello and indefatigable Craig Fitzgibbon.Front-rowers Steve Roach and Craig Young are from the top shelf, forming the foundation and go-forward for the team to launch its attack and construct its rock solid defence in the ruck.Between the props will be outstanding rake and superb scrummager Kevin Schubert, known as the "Prince of Hookers".On interchange are John Dorahy and Shaun Timmins, while Ben Creagh and Bruce Olive add power in the pack. The team is well served by goal-kickers Langlands, Wishart, Fitzgibbon and Dorahy. The astute Harry Nolan is coach, while the referee is Alf Grew.
