If not literally, maybe figuratively. Maybe both.
At a time when our worlds have shrunk and social distancing becomes our new normal, we need to find ways to continue to do what we can whether that be physically or ,mentally.
We all need to find our way through this time.
For many businesses, they face an uncertain time.
Many don't have a choice.
Yet some businesses are able to adapt and change in an attempt to ride out the hardship we face during this need to isolate ourselves.
Today we're launching a new campaign Taking Care of Business.
The campaign is aimed at highlighting and recognising Illawarra businesses who are managing to reinvent themselves or find ways to continue to operate under these extreme examples.
Today we have highlighted Shellharbour dance school Dance Sensations which is now delivering its classes to students via live streaming technology.
Well, if Mohammed can't come to the mountain, the mountain might as well go to Mohammed.
What a fantastic initiative and hopefully it gets well supported by parents under the circumstances. If you know of a business which is adapting, help us take care of them.
Shoot us an email titled Taking Care of Business to cos@illawarramercury.com.au and we will see if we can help promote their efforts as part of the Taking Care of Business campaign.
We've also started to compile a list of cafes, restaurants and clubs which will be delivering to customers as a way of keeping their businesses afloat during this time.
We will continue to refresh and build the list as more details of businesses come through.
While we are isolated at this time, we are still a community and can still work together (even remotely) to help each other out at this time of need. Help us take care of local business.
