Teen robbed at gunpoint: police

A teen was robbed at gunpoint in Berkeley in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A police spokesperson said the 18-year-old was walking along Semaphore Road at Berkeley at about 3.30am on Saturday when a car stopped in front of him.

Two men got out of the car - described as an older style sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry - and were allegedly armed with a firearm and a glass bottle.

They allegedly demanded the teen  hand over his wallet and phone. He complied but the spokesperson said he was then hit in the back of the head with the bottle and punched in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.Then he was allegedly kicked in the back before the two men fled.

Lake Illawarra Local Area Command is looking for two men who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

They are both described as being in their mid to late 30s, wearing hooded jumpers and white baseball caps.

One of the men may have been of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance.
