Kiama are desperate to get off the bottom and Albion Park want to continue their charge for a top four spot in this afternoon's round eight clash in South Coast cricket at Cavalier Park.
The Park ended a three-game losing streak with an impressive 78-run thrashing of premiers Warilla last weekend, while Kiama were beaten by improving Gerringong/Jamberoo.
Last-placed Kiama trail The Rail by 10 points and have lost their past four games, the longest losing run of any team in the competition.
And while new leaders Lake Illawarra (99 points) and Oak Flats (98 points) are set to fight out the minor premiership, just 19 points separate equal third-placed Shellharbour and the Jets (64 points) from second-last The Rail.
In other games, fourth-placed Gerringong/Jamberoo face their biggest test of the season away to Lake Illawarra, who have won their past four matches.
Meanwhile, struggling Warilla have won just two games all season and will have to show significant improvement to beat a confident Shellharbour at Oakleigh Park.
Warilla's batting has been poor this season and they managed just 109 against the Park in round seven.
In the other game in round eight, Oak Flats host The Rail at Geoff Shaw Oval.
Ladder: Lake Illawarra 99, Oak Flats 98, Shellharbour 64, Gerringong/Jamberoo 64, Albion Park 55, Warilla Sports 54, The Rail 45, Kiama 35.
