The new maps cover thousands of properties and build on earlier maps released by the government-owned network builder NBN Co in the past two months.
They show the expansion of the fibre network from central areas such as Wollongong's CBD and Dapto.
New suburbs where work has now started include Bellambi, Coniston, East Corrimal, Kanahooka, Koonawarra, Mangerton and Penrose.
In other Wollongong suburbs, like Figtree and Unanderra, and southern suburbs from Port Kembla to Windang, work is scheduled to begin within three years.
Construction in the city's northern suburbs to Scarborough is due to begin within the next year, although there is no timetable for areas around Helensburgh.
NBN Co says it usually takes 12 months from the start of work until homes and businesses can connect.
The timetable in Shellharbour City will be slower than in Wollongong, with no major works to start immediately.
No dates have been released for Oak Flats and Albion Park.
Cunningham MP Sharon Bird yesterday said residents in the roll-out areas could now expect to see NBN Co workers carrying out detailed planning and inspection work.
Throsby MP Stephen Jones used the latest roll-out maps to attack Opposition Leader Tony Abbott.
"Tony Abbott says he wants to eliminate the NBN and leave the delivery of broadband to the competitive market, something that was a complete failure," Mr Jones said.
