Even immobile residents from the Mayflower Retirement village cut a lap of Fern Street in their wheelchairs, assisted by members of the Gerringong Lions rugby league club.
Thousands attended the annual show of community pride on Saturday, including players from two pipe bands.
Clubs and businesses operated 50 floats, among them a surfboat teaming with Gerringong Nippers.
Roger Drury, president of organising group Gerringong Sunrise Rotary, said the event had a strong following for its amazing atmosphere.
‘‘Everybody gets behind it,’’ he said.
‘‘I don’t think there’s many towns that have a Christmas parade – it’s getting bigger and bigger each year.’’ The parade and associated street party take place on the third Saturday in December.
