The South Pacific carnival will have its finalists in singles and fours today, with some of the tournament's biggest names in action at tournament headquarters Fairy Meadow Bowling Club.

One of the best days of the tournament is assured with singles quarter-finals and one of the fours semi-finals, beginning at 9.30am.

Rick Malley and his Windang fours team won three knockout matches last Sunday to qualify for the semi-finals against Gymea's Alan Smith.

Malley beat Alan McDonald (Oak Flats) 15-10 in his first post-sectional match, then accounted for Ben Ford (Composite) 16-12 and edged Paul Leckey (North Manly) 15-7 in their quarter-final.

Smith had a bye in the first post-sectional round then beat Corrimal's Sean Love 12-10 and edged out Jared Hamilton (Bulli) in their quarter-final, after almost giving up a five-shot lead on the final end.

Meanwhile, 2010 singles champion John Green and defending champion Shane Garvey are on opposite sides of the draw in today's singles quarter-finals.

Green takes on Brett Pieper in what looms as a terrific match-up, while Garvey faces the in-form Jesse Noronha, his second in the fours.

The winner of the Pieper v Green clash takes on either Michael Clarke (Cabramatta) or James Webster (Hamilton, Queensland) in one semi-final (11.30am), while Garvey or Noronha will face the winner of the all-Figgy Bowlo quarter-final between 14-year-old Dylan Skinner and 57-year-old Warner Jones.

Jones is having his best run at the South Pacific and won three knockout games on Monday to reach the quarter-finals.

The Garvey v Jim Davies fours semi-final will be the last match played today.
