The talks are designed to educate and inspire local musos by giving them the tools they need to take their music career to the next level.
The campaign will be hosted by the Wollongong Youth Centre and is called ‘‘Are You Serious?’’
The event will have a different speaker every Thursday at 5pm starting on January 10 and ending on March 7.
The speakers for the campaign consist of artists, business owners and music scene advocates. They are musician Brendan Gallagher, APRA/AMCOS representative David Parry, TAFE teacher Nick Comensoli, MTV marketer Colin Blake, Kontented’s Kate Edwards, Anna Chaplin of Chaplin Arts, Main Street Studios’ Adam Jordan, Music Farmers’ Jeb Taylor and myself.
The topics for the talks will range from getting the right equipment to self promotion and marketing.
The Are You Serious talks are free to attend and are open to everyone. If you’re a muso who can’t catch a break, or if you’re a muso who just wants to take it to the next level, then these talks are for you.
