Rocking Horse and The Baby Dolls, Beaten Bodies and Tommy M and The Mastersounds are the three bands performing and I know that many Illawarrians have been waiting to get these three acts on the same bill for a while.
Rocking Horse and The Baby Dolls have a cool ’50s flair about them. Their lead singer, Christie Woodhouse, has an awesome voice that is backed up by the three Baby Doll singers and an awesome instrumental section.
The band won the UOW Unibar band competition in 2011 and their first EP Get in, Get on was released in March last year.
Beaten Bodies also have that cool vintage vibe going on and are fronted by the lovely Marli Wilde.
They have a four-piece horn section, as well as bass, keys and drums pulling it all together. They will be fresh off their East Coast Tour and have a new album on sale.
Tommy M and The Mastersounds have more of a reggae-funk style. I love watching this eight-piece perform due to their high energy.
These guys took out the last Mercury Bluescope Band Comp in 2011, among other achievements.
Led by Tommy M on bass, Evan Kerr on vocals-keys and Joe Mongovan on vocals-drums, they’re a very talented bunch.
