A notorious gang rapist would be heavily supervised when given day release from the South Coast Correctional Centre at Nowra, Corrective Services said yesterday.

Weekend media reports suggested the 29-year-old rapist - who was a co-accused of the notorious Skaf brothers - was to be allowed to have a day trip to White Sands Tourist Park in Huskisson on Sunday with only his brother to supervise.
However, a Corrective Services spokeswoman said the outing had been cancelled and when it was rescheduled the criminal would be heavily supervised.
"It will include electronic monitoring, his sponsor, and there will be surprise spot checks and visits," she said.
The non-parole period on the man's 14½-year sentence is complete and the Serious Offenders Review Council and the Parole Authority have instructed Corrective Services to give the man leave to reintegrate him back into the community under strict supervision and conditions.
The man - who cannot be named for legal reasons - was jailed for his involvement in the pack rape of young women in south-west Sydney in 2000.
He was one of 14 men - including Bilal and Mohammed Skaf - who pack raped a young woman multiple times at isolated locations across Sydney and raped two other women in a Sydney park.
