Chair used to foil Bomaderry armed robbery

A chair was used to fight off a would-be armed robber at Bomaderry Bowling Club after the man brandished a pair of scissors and demanded money on Thursday night.

Nowra Police Inspector Susan Horton said the man fled after a staff member “threatened him with a chair”.

The incident happened at 10.30pm and police are calling on anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at that time to contact them.

The man was wearing a dark hooded jacket and dark trousers, Inspector Horton said.
