Illawarra bands Elemont and Mass Effect played live for the crowd, with graffiti demonstrations from a variety of local artists.
Toby Schaefer-Darling, co-ordinator of Youth Services, said the event was about providing creative outlets for young people interested in the street art subculture.
“We’ve had a growing interest in street art in the wake of other great initiatives such as Wonderwalls, which have seen some high-profile artists visit our city. Home Grown aims to show that our local guys are extremely talented too,’’ he said.
