A late Victorian double brick cottage on Wollongong's Kembla Street has come onto the market for the first time in 14 years.
The property, at 13 Kembla Street, is known as Innisfallen and has been restored and extended in keeping with its heritage (it was built circa 1890) while featuring modern and luxurious features.
Listed with Rolf Lokker of AM Rutty Estate Agents, the home has four large bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a fireplace, walk-in wardrobe and ensuite.
There a study, sunroom, American oak chef's kitchen and a Carrara marble and travertine tiled bathroom with free-standing bath.
Lokker said the home was open plan with a meal area and large family room, formal lounge and dining areas, timber flooring throughout, timber ceiling and cornices, four fireplaces and two deep verandahs.
Set on a 746 square metre block, the property has a tandem 2½-car garage, an extra three off-street parking spaces, extensive under-house storage, loft storage and a separate cellar.
It is fully fenced on secure grounds with period fences, a rose arbour and established gardens.
The property is open today for inspection from 2pm-2.45pm and will go to auction onsite on Saturday, March 8, at 3.30pm.
Waterfront interest
Waterfront properties around Shellharbour's North Beach continue to attract strong interest from the high end of the market.
The latest listing in the prestigious area is a three-bedroom apartment at 6/2 Surf Road, Shellharbour.
Listed with Jordan Andonovski of McGrath Real Estate Wollongong, the beachfront apartment offers state-of-the art living in a boutique block of eight apartments.
Andonovski said its spacious north-facing open plan lounge and dining areas were complemented by alfresco entertainment areas.
He said the apartment had three double-sized bedrooms with a master suite, deluxe kitchen and neutral and warm travertine tiles throughout.
The interiors were completely private and the property featured a double lock-up garage.
Andonovski said the asking price was for offers of more than $1.65 million.
DA approval for site
A beachfront block of land at Barrack Point is up for sale for offers above $1.2 million.
The property at 66 Headland Parade is a three-bedroom house but development approval plans have been granted for two architecturally designed duplexes (plans available).
Ray White Shellharbour Oak Flats Group principal sales agent Amanda Bonnici said the property was a rare opportunity for the purchaser to build their dream home. The parcel of land is about 1000sqm.
Bonnici is also selling a five-bedroom home at 4 Kangaroo Drive, Blackbutt, for $749,000.
The home has five double-sized bedrooms; the master has a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite.
The property has three open plan living spaces and garage space for four cars. The Blackbutt home is open for inspection on Saturday from 11.45am to 12.15pm.
Bushland setting
A brand new house at 31 Terrie Ave, Figtree, which is ready to move into, is available for sale for offers above $949,000.
Set on a 1380 sqm block, the four-bedroom home is set high on the hill, facing north with escarpment views.
Listed with Jayne Langford of Peter Taranto Real Estate, the home features airconditioning, a gas fireplace, polished hardwood floors and stone benchtops.
Langford said the home, with two bathrooms and two garage spaces, was located in a tranquil leafy setting with low-maintenance bushland gardens.
"This area is in high demand with young families because of the lifestyle it offers," she said.
"It's very quiet and private, surrounded by beautiful bushland, and with amazing views of the escarpment."
The home will be open for inspection on Saturday from 11.30am to noon.
