Lara Bingle has been labelled the Kim Kardashian of Australia by a US lawyer involved in the case against her beau Sam Worthington.

The Avatar star appeared in Manhattan’s Criminal Court on Wednesday and was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, attempted assault and harassment after allegedly attacking a photographer.

He was also slapped with a restraining order barring him from contact with the paparazzo, Sheng Li, for six months.

Bingle was not in court with the 37-year-old actor, but Ronald Kuby, the lawyer representing the photographer attended the hearing.

He wanted to make sure no favouritism was shown towards Worthington or Bingle, he said.

‘‘I hope the justice system works in an equal and fair way without any favouritism to movie stars or the Australian version of Kim Kardashian,’’ he told reporters outside court.

Li appeared in court earlier in the week, charged with misdemeanour counts of assault and harassment.

Police allege Li was aggressively taking photos of Bingle as she walked along a Greenwich Village street and Li deliberately kicked Bingle.

Worthington, after Li allegedly kicked Bingle, is accused of hitting the paparazzo ‘‘with a closed fist several times on his face, causing a laceration to the bridge of his nose and substantial pain’’, according to the criminal complaint.

Kim Kardashian wants her wedding to be ‘‘super small’’.

The reality TV star is engaged to Kanye West, and there has been plenty of speculation about the couple having a huge, lavish wedding this spring.

But according to Kardashian, this will absolutely not be the case.

‘‘We’re having a super, super small, intimate wedding,’’ she told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show.

‘‘As we go along, we’re realising we want it to be smaller and more intimate than people are imagining and thinking.’’

Seacrest also talked about West’s grand proposal to Kim on her 33rd birthday, when he rented out a baseball stadium and orchestra.

When Seacrest told her West was nervous she replied:   ‘‘I don’t know how he could ever think that!

‘‘I believe in his heart, he knew I’d say yes. I mean, we have a child together, we have loved each other a really long time, and I think it’s the right time.’’
