Um, Tony? Perry struggles with PM’s name

US pop star Katy Perry gave Tony Abbott a lecture on gay marriage the last time she was in Australia but couldn’t remember the PM’s name when asked during her latest visit.

The singer is in Sydney to promote her upcoming world tour and was quizzed about her knowledge of Australia.

When asked by Seven Sunrise host Samantha Armytage on Wednesday if she knew the name of Australia’s Prime Minister she said: ‘‘This guy I was on the phone with that I don’t agree with, but I like him a lot ... Tony?’’ she replied.

She didn’t do much better on Australian fauna, saying she thought wombats were fictional.

Before the live interview, hundreds of screaming fans lined up to see the 29-year-old outside the network’s studios in Martin Place.

Perry took selfies and signed autographs on the red carpet, greeting fans ranging from the preschoolers to grandmothers.

‘‘Where’s my coffee?’’ the pop star joked as she sat down for her interview.

She was soon back on her feet when her hosts surprised her with an Australian petting zoo featuring a baby saltwater crocodile, a koala, wombat, and a diamond python.

‘‘I never thought I’d see a wombat in person because I thought it was a fictional animal,’’ she said.

‘‘But Australia has all kinds of animals. Do you have a pegasus?’’

Perry last week announced her Prismatic World Tour is coming to Australia in November, but has not confirmed who will be touring with her.

Taylor Swift has been granted a restraining order against a man who has allegedly been stalking her since 2011.

The singer won the order after claiming a fan had repeatedly sent her frightening emails, letters and social media posts in the last three years, and she now fears for her safety.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, Swift alleges the fan claimed she was his wife, and threatened to kill her family members. Some of the alarming messages read:

‘‘Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, (US) Secretary of State’’, and ‘‘If anyone in Taylor Swift’s family gets killed, it is not my fault.’’

He also vowed to carry a gun at all times to protect the singer.

A judge ruled the fan must stay at least 90 metres away from Swift and the three members of her immediate family.

Khloe wants lie detectors to track theif

Khloe Kardashian has told whoever stole her jewellery that they can expect some bad karma.

The reality star suspects a thief or thieves snatched $US250,000 ($A280,946) worth of items from the home she shared with estranged husband Lamar Odom in Tarzana, California.

According to TMZ, Khloe is convinced the culprit is one of her assistants, a member of her house staff, a film crew member, an inspector or movers - someone who had knowledge of where she kept her valuables.

‘‘Thieves.... Someone’s about to have some bad Karma coming their way. And that bitch NEVER forgets!!’’ she tweeted.

The Los Angeles Times says police are investigating the theft.

Law enforcement sources told the newspaper there were no signs of forced entry.

According to the Times, the mansion was held in trust after it was put on the market last month for nearly $US5.5 million.

Khloe and Lamar reportedly moved out of the residence after she filed for divorce in December.

She is not believed to suspect Lamar’s involvement in the theft as the basketball player is currently in Spain, according to TMZ.

The drama is the latest in a string of tabloid headlines for Kardashian and Odom, who had also been accused of infidelity and drug abuse.
