Chris Martin denies ’cheating’ rumours

British rocker Chris Martin has denied a report suggesting he cheated on his wife Gwyneth Paltrow with a TV assistant.

The Coldplay frontman split from the Oscar-winning actress last month after 10 years of marriage.

Neither star has spoken publicly about the break-up since a statement announcing the split was released.

However, a spokesman for Martin has now addressed a US media report which alleged the rocker had an affair.

The spokesman has told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, ‘‘This is completely untrue, we totally deny it.’’

Nicole Kidman causes a stir in NSW town

A new brunette look hasn’t fooled locals keen on a glimpse of Hollywood star Nicole Kidman.

The Oscar-winning actress is causing a stir in the small local community surrounding Canowindra in NSW’s central west, where Kidman is filming her new movie Strangerland.

Despite posing for photos with local children, the star is said to be largely keeping to herself in her trailer.

Meanwhile cast mates Hugo Weaving and Joseph Fiennes have been spotted at the local pub, News Corp Australia reports.

The film is set in the outback and revolves around the disappearance of two teenagers.

Canowindra’s main street is set to get a makeover and the town will be sprayed with red dust to transform it into the Australian desert.

Kidman is believed to be staying locally at a secret location.

Filming will continue in the area for about two more weeks before moving to Broken Hill in the state’s far west.

Johnny Depp wants '100 kids’

US actor Johnny Depp admits he’d make 100 children if he could.

The 50-year-old actor is currently engaged to wed actress Amber Heard, 27.

Depp already shares daughter Lily-Rose, 14, and John III, 11, with his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis, but the star confesses he wants more.

‘‘I love kids. I have two, and they’re perfect,’’ he told ET Online.

‘‘Man, I’d make 100. But I’ve got the easy gig, right?’’

Last week, Depp arrived in Beijing donning a band on his ring finger.

A reporter asked him if the jewellery confirmed rumours he is engaged.

Depp replied: ‘‘You can take that anyway you like, absolutely. The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle.’’

When asked by ET what it is like wearing a woman’s engagement ring, the star said he embraces the unconventional band.

‘‘It’s exciting to wear a girl’s ring.‘‘I don’t know, you know. It just fit,’’ Depp said.

The couple threw a lavish engagement party for friends and family at Carondelet House in Los Angeles last month, after Heard was spotted on numerous occasions wearing a sparkler on her ring finger.

Miley Cyrus cancels show due to flu

US pop star Miley Cyrus has been forced to cancel a concert in the US due to a bout of the flu.

The singer was due to perform at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina, but pulled out just half an hour before she was supposed to be on stage.

According to E! News, Miley is dealing with severe ‘‘throat and sinus’’ issues.

The 21-year-old is scheduled to continue the Bangerz Tour on Saturday night in Raleigh, but it looks as if that too will have to be cancelled.

According to a Live Nation press release, ‘‘Cyrus has been diagnosed with flu and doctors have ordered her to rest,’’ reported the Charlotte Observer, adding that a notice posted at the arena by Ticketmaster said the show will not be rescheduled.

Monday night’s cancellation comes just a week after Miley’s beloved dog Floyd was killed by a coyote.

The singer performed Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide, dedicating it to her pup in Boston on Thursday.

The singer tweeted about her sadness, saying, ‘‘I don’t wanna say it because I don’t want it to be real... But my precious baby Floyd has passed away’’ with a picture of her and the husky.

Miley told fans last week she felt ‘‘miserable’’ and ‘‘broken’’ after the death of the Alaskan Klee Kai, and apologised to fans before continuing on her Bangerz Tour.

‘‘I’m sorry in advance if I am not myself tomorrow Boston.

‘‘I will try my best to be my best,’’ she wrote.

‘‘I know I don’t mean it but I wish he would’ve taken me with him this is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him?’’

Expect unexpected from Game of Thrones: Jones

Game Of Thrones star Finn Jones has warned viewers to expect the unexpected in the latest season of the TV show.

No character is safe, he warns. He says Game Of Thrones remains true to the novels, A Song Of Fire And Ice, but it no longer religiously follows author George R. R. Martin’s storyline.

The fourth season of Game Of Thrones, in which Jones plays Ser Loras Tyrell, screened on Foxtel’s Showcase channel in Australia just hours after it went to air in the US where it crashed the streaming service HBO Go.

He says the characters on the TV show could now be killed out of sequence to the books.‘‘One hundred, per cent, no one is safe now,’’ Jones said during an interview in Brisbane.

‘‘We see more deviation in season four, but the books haven’t been finished yet and the TV series and the books are now two separate entities.

‘‘It doesn’t mean the show is not true to the spirit of the books, the creators love the books and would never stuff around with their spirit .. .but all the actors are scared of their characters (dying).

‘‘I may know what happens in the book to Loras but I do not know what happens in the show and that’s the excitement.’’Jones has appeared in Game Of Thrones since the first season. He had difficulty watching the first three seasons because he had read the books and knew where the shows was heading.

However, having seeing the first three episodes of the new season and knowing the show is slightly deviating from the novels, he’s become a fan of his own series.‘‘I’m a massive fan of the show,’’ he said.

‘‘After seeing the first three episodes, they are so brilliant and amazing, I could not help but get lost in it.

‘‘There’s something about season four which captures your imagination and your heart.‘‘To work on it, enjoy it and be a fan sends a message that the show has really hit its mark.’’

Game of Thrones converts and even long-time fans shouldn’t be ashamed of referring to websites for family trees of the noble houses at war for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.

Jones says even though he has read the novel and has himself been a part of the TV series for four years, even he has trouble remembering who is related to who and why.

‘‘I constantly go to the Wikipedia website to look up the family tree,’’ he says.

‘‘It’s impossible to remember because it’s a whole world.

‘‘I’m lucky as an actor that I have someone who has done all the hard work for me and put a family tree together.’’
