I think council is being rather pedantic in refusing the Kembla Grange retail precinct. Everybody I have spoken to in my area thinks it would be a great idea.

There are so many things not available in Dapto or Unanderra for example, bulky whitegoods and furniture. So little or no trade would be lost to either locality as the option does not exist.
It’s either travel to Warrawong or Shellharbour (but don’t even consider Wollongong with its parking woes) or shop online and have items delivered to your door for less than local stores charge, in some cases even free delivery.
I think a retail precinct at Kembla Grange would be a great boost to this area, and council should reconsider its opposition.
