Chance to reward Shellharbour's good neighbours

Nominations have opened for Shellharbour City Council's popular Good Neighbour Awards.

Shellharbour residents have been invited to share stories about what makes their neighbours great and to nominate them for the 13th instalment of the annual awards, which this year celebrate connections made within the community.

"It is the people around us and the relationships we form with our neighbours that makes a place feel like home," Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said.

"It may be the simple tasks, like bringing in the garbage bin from the street, that forms good relationships or it could be more substantial like caring for your children when you are not home, or being available during a health crisis or extreme event."

Nominations will be accepted for residents, community groups and streets.

Nominations close on May 9 with entry forms available at libraries, customer services and online at

Winners will be announced in June.
