The story quoted Cr Bradbery as saying ‘‘That percentage of our community will never be satisfied and...will always be considered a pack of bastards.’’
In fact, Cr Bradbery said ‘‘that percentage or section of our community will never be satisfied and...we’ll always be a pack of bastards’’.
Cr Bradbery said on Tuesday that he was not criticising those opponents of council but stating that, for a segment of the community, councillors will always be ''a pack of bastards’’, no matter what they do.
The Mercury regrets the error, which was inadvertent.
