Fernhill officially opened $80,000 worth of refurbishments to facilities at Ray Robinson Field on Friday night before their clash with Albion Park.
Through a combination of grants for both the senior and junior clubs, the ground received $50,000 for an upgrade of lighting through the NSW Sport and Recreational "Community Building Partnership Fund" and $30,000 for seating on the southern concourse, with the help of Wollongong City Council's Sports Planning Process.
"We are quite proud to once again improve the infrastructure at Ray Robinson Field," club president Craig Armour said.
"Once again it improves the spectator experience at the field and I would like to thank all the ground staff.
"It has been a long time coming and I will look forward to junior and senior players using the new facilities."
Armour paid tribute to his ground staff co-ordinated by Neil Kemp with Al Carter, Ardrie Grobbe and Ed O'Donnell, for helping enhance the venue.
The Foxes went down 2-1 to the White Eagles.
