Woman killed in Coolangatta car crash

An elderly woman has been killed following a car crash at Coolangatta near Shoalhaven Heads.

Paramedics were called to a two-car collision on Bolong Road just after 4.30pm.

An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said paramedics attempted to treat a woman aged in her 70s who suffered a cardiac arrest, but she later died at the scene.

Emergency services are also working to free a 41-year-old man trapped in his car, who suffered neck, chest and lower leg pain.

He will be taken to Wollongong Hospital once freed.

Multiple ambulances and a helicopter attended the incident.
