The Illawarra Grammar School took out first place and $500 in prize money in the Junior Vocal Choirs section at the Wollongong Eisteddfod on Wednesday.

The Wollongong Conservatorium of Music came in second while St John’s Junior Vocal Group placed third.
The section, consisting of eight choirs, was adjudicated by opera singer Sarah Marshall and sponsored by the Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Wollongong.
