Coach rapt as Cadets strike form

Corrimal RSL Cadets coach Linda Yeo praised her improving squad as the Illawarra season reaches its halfway point.

The Cadets are nestled in the top four on the back of three straight wins and a forfeited victory against league leaders Vipers.

A 34-26 triumph over Woonona McDonalds on the weekend added to the scalps of Wests Titans and Dapto Storm in the top division as the contest heads into a two-week break.

"We are really happy with the way the team is coming together so far. We have got quite a few new players and they have really started to form," Yeo said.

"We have really started blending as a team and we are going from strength to strength. I am pleased with the way it has started and continuing at the moment.

"The commitment this year has been amazing."

Yeo's squad is fourth on the ladder on eight points, two clear of Wests Titans after last week's win.

"With Woonona we were trying a few combinations just to see how they would work," Yeo said.

"They were a bit lower then us on the ladder so we decided to do a few things which were a bit experimental with that game.

"It paid off so that's what impressed me about the game."

The Cadets face Woonona WBRSL after the break and will look to continue their quest for a finals spot.

"I do believe we have got the team to make semis and hopefully progress on to a finals berth," Yeo said.

In other games, Brindles are now third after a 40-30 win over Wests Titans while Woonona WBRSL had their first win in a 62-50 triumph against Dapto Storm.
