Normally the domain of DJs and dance music, the Hotel Illawarra will host a different kind of noise on Wednesday as the club is taken over by the RAW Wollongong creative showcase.

Up to 30 musicians, photographers, visual artists, dancers and make-up artists will be on show as part of the sprawling schedule, which is titled Communique.
Part of the global RAW venture, which hosts events in 60 cities across the world, RAW Wollongong returns to the region after a few months' break.
"The idea is that artists run an arts event," said showcase director Sarina Del Fuego.
"It's to enjoy local art across all genres, and help artists get to the next level."
The Wollongong events had formerly been held at the Town Hall, but Ms Del Fuego said the more intimate nature of a club would fit the evening well. Circus performers and acrobats, live art and live bands will perform, giving artists a chance to show their work to a new audience.
"It's like a community of artists," said Corrimal artist Cassandra Kavanagh.
"It's a great way of getting in contact with other artists, and lets artists be noticed and work together."
Ms Kavanagh has already made connections with other exhibiting artists, and said it gave valuable collaboration opportunities.
"It's a way of reminding people how important art is. Art is what makes us human," she said.
RAW Wollongong begins at 7.30 on Wednesday at the Hotel Illawarra. The next showcase, Scope, is September 17.
