Swell time for surfers as strong winds ease: photos

Catching waves: Surfers celebrated the arrival of some decent swell on Tuesday, grabbing their boards and heading out to the region's best breaks.

The strong winds finally died down, giving boardriders the first rideable waves in nearly a month.

The wind is expected to pick up again later on in the week, tending north-westerly on Wednesday and gusting between 35km/h and 50km/h on Thursday.
