Boy, 5, approached near Shellharbour

Police are appealing for information after a boy was approached near Shellharbour on Saturday morning.

About 8.50am, a five-year-old boy was riding a pushbike on Woolgunya Parkway, Flinders, when a small black sedan stopped next to him.

Police have been told the female driver grabbed the boy’s shirt before he broke free and ran home.

The boy’s father contacted police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command, who attended a short time later.

Officers would now like to speak with a woman who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The woman has been described as being of mature age, with a medium build, tanned skin, and dark-coloured, curly shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a navy blue t-shirt.

Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
