Barely a whisker was out of place as pedigree felines, everyday moggies and the odd rescue cat took their places among 80 entries at Woonona Bulli RSL Club, to fight for the title of top cat.
Bomaderry breeder Joseph Skinner’s Ragdoll Prince Casimir shared equal first place overall.
The fluffy, fair-eyed Ragdoll breed was recently voted the world’s most popular cat breed.
Mr Skinner said judges looked for the perfect mixture of beauty, good presentation and temperament.
‘‘For the pedigree cats they want to be true to their type, true to their breed right down to the letter but it’s a beauty contest as well,’’ he said.
‘‘You can have the best cat but at the end of the day [if he’s not presented well] you will not get judged as highly.
‘‘For the part-pedigrees they’re looking for a really well-adjusted cat, well groomed, well fed and a pleasure to handle.
‘‘The real show cat is the one that stands out the front [without fuss].’’
Ragdolls, Devon Rexes, Bengals and British Blues were among the breeds on show.
