Police are appealing for information about an unknown man who broke into the home of a 75-year-old Berkeley woman on Saturday.

The man entered the home about 12.30am, turned on lights and rummaged through the rooms. He placed items on the bed before walking to the lounge room. The woman had been asleep in the living room and awoke to see him in the kitchen. She yelled and he ran out. Police were called and a dog unit was dispatched.
The man is described as about 170 centimetres tall and Caucasian in appearance. He was last seen wearing a blue or black baseball cap worn backwards and light-coloured clothing.
