Third place is on the line when Wests face Robertson as the finals race heats up in the Illawarra first-grade competition.

With both teams set to make the top four this campaign, Wests coach Scott Mathews is hopeful his squad can gain a mental edge by claiming third, leading into a potential finals duel with the South Highlands club.

"We expect to play them again in the semis, so it is a pretty important game for us to secure third spot and obviously give us some confidence going into the semi-finals," he said.

"If we can beat them this week, it will do a lot for beating them again in the semis."

Wests come into the match on a high after a superb display against the Students last weekend.

Despite going down 4-3, the Devils led the match before eventually getting overrun. Goal-machine Elliott Ashby bagged a hat-trick in the loss.

In other matches this weekend, Albion Park meet Mittagong after demolishing Dapto 13-0 in round 19.

Minor premiers University face Dapto.

In the women's top grade, Albion Park continued their reign at the top with a 2-1 win over Figtree Unanderra while Avondale defeated Jamberoo 1-0.

Gerringong beat Fairy Meadow 4-2 and University drew 1-1 with Wests.
