The folk at CPSA Dapto Seniors don’t need much of a reason to party, but they’re especially looking forward to hosting their ever-popular Father’s Day concert.
As in previous years the event on Monday, September 8, will include plenty of entertainment and lovely food.
Dapto Seniors president Brian Green said the group had invited residents from local retirement homes and villages to attend the concert.
‘‘As well as some great entertainment including sketches and a singalong with your favourite songs, the group will provide visitors with a delicious tea followed by a giant door prize draw with many wonderful prizes,’’ he said.
‘‘Everybody is welcome, so come along and have a very enjoyable afternoon. You will have a lot of fun and you never know, you might be one of the many happy door prize winners. Everybody receives a lucky ticket at the door.’’
Mr Green said the group held a Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas concert every year.
‘‘These concerts have been a regular community feature for many years and are attended by people from all over the local area. Entry is by a very modest gold coin donation,’’ he said.
CPSA Dapto Seniors, which recently celebrated its 52nd anniversary, is the largest Illawarra club catering for pensioners.
Its meetings are held fortnightly at Heininger Hall.
The concert will be held at 1.30pm.
