Thirroul businesswoman Kirrily Sinclair, who runs the popular Foragers Markets at Bulli Showground, plans to turn the newly revamped mall into a foodie haven with her new Eat Street Markets.
‘‘We’re going to have live music, dining areas and chill-out spaces... and it will be a hot food and sweet treat markets with a strong focus on international food,’’ she said.
‘‘This city needs a nightlife, and with the refurbishment of the mall it’s the perfect time to do it.’’
Ms Sinclair said she had been contacted by lots of interested stallholders and encouraged local cafes and restaurants to get involved.
‘‘We want families to come and enjoy these markets, and I really want to turn Crown Street into a destination in itself – so bringing more people in and not just feeding people who are there shopping,’’ she said.
Eat Street Markets will be held every Thursday night in the western end of the mall from 5-10pm starting December 4.
