A man was found with a replica pistol and suspected stolen police property during a traffic stop in Wollongong on Monday.
Wollongong police made the discovery after stopping a Holden Commodore driving dangerously on Crown Street around 11.50am.
Police searched the car, finding a replica pistol, NSW Police uniform, NSW Police identification badge and an amount of crime scene tape.
The items were seized and the 44-year-old driver was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station.
The man was later charged with prolong loss of traction (perform ‘burnout’) and three counts of goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear before Port Kembla Local Court on Tuesday 2 June 2015.
