Joint leaders with Coogee at the start of Thursday’s race, with Moruya Vikings and Long Reef lurking just one point behind, Bulli made a statement.
Bulli finished in 1:35.04, ahead of Moruya in 1:36.16, with Coogee third.
Long Reef struggled with damaged equipment on the boat and limped to the finish in fourth.
However, the northern Illawarra club still faces the most difficult challenge of the Marathon on Friday.
A number of competitors capsized in the rough surf and high winds, while others including the Wollongong City women’s crew, withdrew. Bulli led for the first two days of the Marathon, before finishing fourth on the 22-kilometre race on the Wagonga Inlet.
