About 8.40am, officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command went to a home on Nannawalli Street to arrest a man wanted on warrants.
At the home, officers arrested a 49-year-old man.
Following his arrest, police say they found a loaded pen gun at the home.
The gun was seized and will undergo forensic examination.
The man was taken to Lake Illawarra police station where he was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm, possessing ammunition without permit, stalk/intimidate, breaching an apprehended violence order and an outstanding warrant for alleged domestic violence offences.
He was refused bail and will front Port Kembla Local Court on Friday.
