The zone are in force on gazetted school days and the first of which is Thursday.

“Nothing is more important than keeping kids safe on our roads, which is exactly why we have school zones with flashing lights, prominent signs and road markings to remind drivers that kids are about and that they need to slow down,” said the executive director of the Centre for Road Safety Bernard Carlon.
Mr Carlon added that school-aged pedestrian casualties from accidents have dropped by more than 30 per cent since school zones were introduced.
